The segment bolstered criticism of the Obama administration's handling of Benghazi.

What was reported

60 Minutes presented a British security contractor, called 'Morgan Jones,' as an eyewitness who scaled the compound wall during the Benghazi attack and later saw Ambassador Stevens' body.

What actually happened

The contractor, Dylan Davies, had told his employer in an incident report that he never reached the compound that night, and had told the FBI a different account than he gave CBS. Lara Logan apologized on air, CBS said it was misled, and an internal review put Logan and her producer on leave. CBS also had not disclosed that Davies' book was published by a CBS-owned imprint.

The proof

Davies' employer incident report and his FBI account contradicted his 60 Minutes story; CBS retracted and apologized.
