The edit made the Democratic nominee's answer look more polished weeks before the election.

What was reported

60 Minutes and Face the Nation aired two different excerpts of Kamala Harris's answer to the same question about Netanyahu. The 60 Minutes version was shorter and tighter.

What actually happened

Face the Nation aired a longer, rambling part of the answer, while the Oct. 7, 2024 60 Minutes broadcast used a different, more concise part. Trump sued under a Texas consumer-protection law, arguing the edit was deceptive. CBS said it followed standard editing practice and in February 2025 released the full transcript and video, which showed both clips came from the same answer. In July 2025, Paramount settled for $16 million toward Trump's library and fees. There was no apology, and Paramount called the suit meritless.

The proof

CBS's own released transcript and raw video, which confirmed the two broadcasts used different excerpts. Paramount's $16 million settlement included no admission of wrongdoing.
