What was reported

After oral arguments, CNN's senior legal analyst called the day a train wreck for the administration and said the health law looked like it would be struck down.

What actually happened

Jeffrey Toobin's verdict from the courtroom set the tone for weeks of coverage predicting the individual mandate's demise. In June 2012 the Supreme Court upheld the mandate 5-4 under the taxing power in NFIB v. Sebelius. Toobin had, ironically, admitted that his own earlier prediction that the law was safe had been wrong.

The proof

The Court upheld the individual mandate on June 28, 2012, as reported by NPR and others.
