How slanted is this story?

Paste a link to any news article (and its text, if the site blocks us). We read it and score its framing from left to right, flag the loaded words, one-sided sourcing and missing context, and quote every line we flag so you can judge for yourself. If the writer is in our database, you'll see their Slant Score too.

How it scores

The check scores the article's framing, not its topic. Straight reporting of facts that are bad for one side should land near Center. It looks for: loaded or emotional words in news copy, opinion presented as fact, one-sided or anonymous sourcing, headlines the body doesn't support, and context a fair reader would need that's missing. It's an automated reading, so it can be wrong: every flag shows the exact quote so you can check it.
