■ The pieces

■ What they show

Joshua A. Cuevas, a University of North Georgia education professor, wrote in the AAUP's Academe magazine about being targeted by online harassment campaigns. He argued that far-right networks increasingly use cyberharassment against academics. The essay presents the issue mainly as a problem of the political right.

■ The other side

Cuevas wrote from personal experience as a target, and his university president publicly backed him. The essay is a first-person argument in a professional association's magazine, not news reporting.

Who it helped: Neither partyAcademic essay, no party claim.
