What was reported

Fox & Friends reported that food-stamp fraud had reached an all-time high, costing taxpayers about $70 million in 2016, and asked whether the program should be ended.

What actually happened

The USDA asked Fox to correct the story, saying it had released no new fraud figures. The most recent federal data, from 2009 to 2011, put trafficking at about 1.3 percent of benefits and showed it declining over time. On December 30 co-host Abby Huntsman said the report was incorrect and apologized on air.

The proof

USDA's correction request and Fox's on-air apology stating the figure was wrong and that fraud was declining.
