What was reported

FoxNews.com illustrated its coverage of Seattle's Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone with images showing an armed man amid smashed storefronts, plus a burning-city photo, as scenes from the zone.

What actually happened

The Seattle Times found one image spliced a June 10 Getty photo of an armed man into May 30 photos of broken downtown windows, and the burning-city image was from St. Paul, Minnesota. Fox removed the images and added an editor's note saying the collage did not clearly delineate the images and that a slideshow had mistakenly included a St. Paul photo.

Fox's own editor's note acknowledged both errors, and the original Getty and AP photos show different dates and places.
