What actually happened

The claims drew ridicule from British officials and threats of legal action from Paris. Fox issued on-air corrections and apologies across several programs on January 17-18, 2015, calling them regrettable errors and saying there was no formal designation of such zones; the guest, Steven Emerson, apologized separately.

The proof

Fox's own on-air corrections acknowledged no credible evidence of areas barred to non-Muslims.
