The story implied the president's son had lied to Congress.

What was reported

NPR reported that Donald Trump Jr. told Senate investigators the Trump Tower Moscow project faded away in 2014, conflicting with Cohen's plea and suggesting legal exposure.

What actually happened

Hours later NPR added an editor's note saying it had mischaracterized his answer. Trump Jr.'s 'faded away' comment concerned an earlier, separate deal, and he had in fact acknowledged to the Senate that Cohen was exploring a Moscow project in 2015 or 2016.

The proof

NPR's own editor's note stating the earlier version mischaracterized Trump Jr.'s testimony.
