Morning Joe: 'The Best Biden Ever'
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough told viewers that, from his private meetings with the president, Biden was sharper than ever and the best version of himself intellectually and analytically.
The remark vouched for Biden's mental fitness during his reelection campaign.
What was reported
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough told viewers that, from his private meetings with the president, Biden was sharper than ever and the best version of himself intellectually and analytically.
What actually happened
Less than four months later, Biden's June 2024 debate performance set off the Democratic revolt that ended his candidacy. In May 2025, while interviewing Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson about their book 'Original Sin' on Biden's decline, Scarborough said on air that he had been obviously wrong. Tapper told the hosts that Biden's team had made a targeted effort to convince Scarborough the president was fit.
The proof
Scarborough's own on-air admission on Morning Joe on May 21, 2025, which followed the 2024 debate and the reporting in 'Original Sin'.
