What was reported

After the 2020 election, Newsmax aired claims, often from guests such as Sidney Powell and Mike Lindell, that Dominion voting machines were rigged to flip votes to Joe Biden.

What actually happened

In April 2025 a Delaware judge ruled that every disputed statement aired on Newsmax was false and defamatory, leaving only actual malice and damages for trial. Before the October trial, Newsmax disclosed in an SEC filing that it would pay Dominion $67 million. It admitted no wrongdoing and issued no retraction.

The proof

A Delaware Superior Court ruling that the statements were false and defamatory, and the $67 million settlement disclosed in Newsmax's SEC filing.
